How do I move My Programming from my VIP 722 To A External Hard Drive?

I have a Dish Network VIP 722 that has USB In the front. I wanted to be able to move the recorded programs from the VIP 722 To a External Hard Drive so that I could burn the Programming on Disc. I have tried to Plug in My external Hard Drive, but it's a little bit more complicated then Drag and Drop. Anybody KNow how I can do this? Thanks

You don't that way. Providers lock their boxes to prevent that.

You need to play the A/V to a DVD recorder or video capture device on your computer.
