Yahoo Answers, anyone else getting bizarre 999 error messages?

When you try to submit an answer to a question?

Just curious if this is widespread or just me.

I've been getting them from time to time lately. A few weeks ago I was getting them like crazy, but not so much now.

Everyone keeps saying it only happens when you try to include a link, but in my case that wasn't true. I rarely include links in my answers, but I was getting that error.

Have you run a security scan on your computer lately? You may have spyware, adware, or malware that you're unaware of. Try running a scan using your computer's security software, or download AVG Free. Other free security downloads are Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware SE Personal, and MalwareBytes.

I have all 4 of those programs, and often one will pick up a problem that the others missed. You can get the downloads at:

http://www.download.com

ADDED: See there ... I just included a link and it submitted on the first try. Go figure!

Yes, and it's extremely annoying. No wonder Yahoo's stock is nosediving. And it could be about a link as the first responder indicated. I'm having the 999 issue on another question I'm trying to reply to in which I added a link to the Community Guidelines and it won't let me post my reply with or without the link, even if I remove the 'http' part.

<edit> I was, however, able to post this question. Weird...
<edit2> I tried replying to the other question again without any link and it worked, then edited it to add the link and it allowed it. Silly to have to jump through hoops to post a reply though.

I have never received one myself, but I learned yesterday that someone had received one in trying to answer a question I had posted. I kept receiving an Oops! message for two different questions yesterday when I tried to answer them. I am not sure what is going on. I hope it is only a temporary problem that is connected with the changes that have been added to Yahoo! in general.

You are trying to post a link. That triggers it, to prevent 'spamming'. Post the answer without the link. If the link is truly needed, go back and edit the answer to post it.
