Does anyone agree that that Postal Service hours are totally out of date with reality? They want 2 cents more!?

I think the Postal Service should open with two shifts, from 7 AM to 7 PM. I understand that a lot of people are emailing because they need quick answers. Not everyone is in a hurry.

Nascar88 before you go postal on us here, try to understand the question. I want to really know why you dont have two shifts rather than the lousy hours the post office carry. I use more UPS and FedEx because you are very unreliable when it comes to service to the public and the more the rates are raised the less people use the service. I wonder when one of your executives will get that everyone does not work your insane hours unless they are stuck at home living the the good times, and who is so lucky nowadays to be a stay at home housewife? Other carriers may be more expensive but they are available later than the Post Office is. It is a matter of convenience.

Every time postage goes up I reduce my mailings. I now have about 80% of my bills paid electronically. Another raise and it will be 98%. They are just cutting their own throats. I used to order garden seeds and supplies through the mail. Now I don't anymore because to buy $5.00 worth of seeds, it costs $7.00 for postage. They are killing businesses that operate mail order. All my letter writing nowadays is by e-mail. Go buy a shoebox full of Forever Stamps. The Postal Service needs to tighten their belts just like we're doing.

Why is it you complain when stamps go up 2 cents, but you said little or nothing when gasoline prices DOUBLED? Can you drive your mail to its destination for 42 cents? Move to a foreign country and see what you'll pay for a stamp. Also, your service will be slower than a snail's pace.

SOME BIG CITIES HAVE THOSE HOURS IF IT POSTAGE WENT UP 10 CENT THEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO PAY SEVEN EXTRA PEOPLE 20 DOLLARS AN HOUR PER OFFICE.
