the plug should be accessible without taking anything off but i'm not sure. However changing your own oil is pretty simple .I would suggest having someone help you the first time.

Hi,
Yes you have to remove the plastic stone trays (plastic shields) as soon as you remove them the sump will be looking down at you.
When you drain the oil, make sure the car engine is warm so the oil drains faster.
Once done, clean up dispose of the oil then tighten the sump plug up, not to tight that you will crack the sump, and then clean again then put you're stone trays back on then put new oil in, Don't forget when you have the trays off you must change the filter before putting the stone trays back on.
then top it up with oil then clean up check level, top it up if need to, to get the level right.
Hope i helped you.
Good luck with the oil changing.
Cheers

slayer .
if it has a plastic shield underneath then yes you will need to remove it. the sump plug should be positioned at the lowest part of the sump(usually a small bit of the sump sticking lower than the rest)
