Drawing cards problem..help?

If two cards are drawn from 52-card deck without replacement (that is, the first card is not replaced in the deck before the second card is drawn), in how many different ways is it possible to obtain a king on the first draw and a heart on the second?

If the first card is the king of hearts, there are then 12 ways to pick the remaining heart.

If the first card is a king but not a heart there are 3 ways to pick this king and for each pick, 13 ways to get a heart in as the second card for a total of 3*13 = 39 different ways.

The total number of choices that satisfy your condition is then 12 +39 = 51.

3*13+1*12=51
