What is the stuff they rub into boxers cuts?

It looks like salt or goo something but it would burn if it was salt. Was is it and what does it do?

Coagulants, either diluted adrenalin or something called avatine. Basically, it closes the wound fairly quickly.

Its Vaseline, have you ever got Vaseline wet... yeah well the water doesn't get through, just like the blood. If you were to put Vaseline over a cut the blood wont get through so the bleeding will stop.

The Vaseline also moisturizes the fighters face so its not dry and doesn't crack so the fighter doesn't get cuts so easily, and it makes the opponents glove slip off the persons face a bit when hes fighting him

I always thought it was vaseline. It helps it stay more slick so if it gets hit again, the hit slides off instead of hitting direct on. Either way, doesn't look fun!

I think they use a styptic stick, shavers used it in the past to stem bleeding caused by razor blade nicks.

i forgot the name of it, buts its a anti swelling cream, that also acts like a gluey subtance which seals up cuts and stops blood from rushing out.
