Hp! I own one and it's really great! It has all these features on it! Go to cnet and get reviews on it. there is also a laptop buyers guide so that you know what to look for.

Dell has better features on the majority of their computers. I have an HP and a Dell, and the Dell is better. People saying HP say it because that's the only computer they have and it does "so many wonderful things!"

I would pick Dell based on my experience with both HP and Dell.
In my case I had a problem with a HP desktop computer and was told by HP that they would supply a box to return my computer to get it fixed. (it was still under warranty).
I also had a problem with a Dell desktop computer and they sent out a person to fix it at my home. (It also was under warranty).

if possible build your own. HP and Dell have many useless programs that make your computer slow. They also lock your bios so you can't even do any tweaking like overclocking. But the lesser of the two evils would be HP because it is known for its reliability.
