Intake system cleaned by brake fluid?
Just curious, I heard earlier today that brake fluid sprayed through a vacuum line into the intake manifold can clean the intake tract even in the heads and on the valves. Is this true?

Along with destroying every sensor between there. Sure, go ahead. The auto parts stores do sell stuff like throttle body cleaner that is designed for intakes, and safe for the electronics.

that's a big negative. brake fluid should only be used for just that: the brake fluid resevoir. anything else and you're playing with fire because brake fluid is a highly irritating agent. instead, head over to your nearest automotive parts shop and pick up a can of carburator cleaner or intake manifold cleaner. however, be careful with both because they might still affect sensors if they're at a lower surface on your intake components. make sure that when you're cleaning it, to let the manifold or runners dry completely before re-installing them. you can let the cleaner sit inside the runners or manifold so as to penetrate the gunk better, but wipe everything clean in the end. remember that carb cleaner evaporates quickly. and wear gloves! i nearly froze my finger off! :)

Solvent might help, but brake fluid doesn't qualify as a solvent.
I'd suggest 3 cans of SeaFoam, one in the fuel tank, one in the oil, and the third through the vacuum line into the intake manifold.
