What is the blaster 1&2 and receiver connections for?

I got this computer a week or so ago, check it out,

The remote came separate with USB eye for the remote and two wires. One was labeled Blaster and the other Receiver, they have jacks that look like audio. On the rear of my computer there are three ports, labeled Blaster 1, Blaster 2, and Receiver.

What are these wires used for? Does it have something to do with Windows Media Center?

No manuals or instructions were provided. I have not been able to find specific directions on Gateways site so I came here. Thank you for your time.

The receiver port is used to receive IR remote signals. This allows you to control your media player computer from an infrared remote.

The blaster ports are connected to IR blasters. This allows your computer to control other devices by imitating an IR remote. So if you want your computer to record a particular show, it can change your cable or satellite box to the correct channel.

Your computer supports two IR blasters.

My gues is that they are used for the speakers that came with the case. I looked on the backof oyur case and there are the six audio jacks and below that there is the connecitons for oyur tv tuner. Two coaxl ports, one is for line in and the other for line out. also on the TV tuner card there is two ports there, these are analog plugs, like the ones on your tv. I don't know if oyu can use them to streem information to a televison, or hook up a vhs player to record to your ocmputer, but something like that.

I hope this helps
