Hi, I want to travel from Malaga to Sevilla by train, but will not be able to book tickets (you need to pick them up 48 hours before travel and I won't have arrived by then!). Do you know if will be OK to turn up on the day and buy a ticket on the same day of travel at the station?

You must pick them up 48 hours in advance????
Or you MAY pick them up after 48 hours before the train?
Check the Renfe site again....renfe.es. I´m pretty sure you can order them online, and then go to the station within about two hours of your train, walk straight up to the kiosk, stick in your credit card and your id number (which I believe you get when you book the route) and out pops your ticket.
Seriously...I saw MANY people doing this, and I regretted having bought our multi-trip passes, as WE had to stand in line for up to an hour to book our seats, on trains we already had the passes for!
There appears to be a good number of trains that run that route. I will say that the only time I ever was told a train was full was in Seville... But I was trying to catch one to Zaragoza. I was forced to upgrade to first class just to get on.
I think you'll be fine. As I said, there's a good number of trains. Even if you can't catch the next one, you can hang around the station for an hour or two before the next one.
