Difficult question as both are really great cars and the r34 is well proven to be a great car and voted in the top 100 cars ever made.
Power figures on paper are going to be all over the place as when the r34 came out Japanese car makers where still held by the ruling of cars having to be kept below 276bhp and we know that stock skylines where in reality dynoed at around 330bhp and even that was in a detuned state as the engines running stock internals would run at around 500-600bhp and well over 1000bhp with further mods, hence being a fave for tuners the World over and the RB26dett engines being a Worldwide conversion in many cars and holding drag etc World records.
So Although the R34 is the older version it is still a great car and offered still today advanced features and amazing Hicas and altessa handling setups.
The R35 is another great car and advanced in some ways to the R34 but as is the R34 to other skylines as time and technology moves on.And this car has a lot to offer it is fast around the Nurburgring ring as the stock R33 did a time of in 7 minutes 59 seconds at the time a production car record.
And already seen winning races in Japan.
It is early days for this new car with tuners already adding new parts and tuning up the power. And the V spec version due out soon.
So overall these are both great cars and i am sure the R35 will carry the iconic stance of the R34 into modern times.
