I think it would be. My younger brother is 10 years old, and he plays it. It hasn't changed him in any way. He doesn't cuss and isn't violent, and is always respectable. But it's also a matter of opinion, what you want your son to see. There is a lot of bad language, blood, violence, reference to drugs, and partial nudity. I have played Grand Theft Auto 4 as well as the Call of Duty games, and if he plays Call of Duty, this game may not be such a problem. If he is indeed very mature for his age, then it will be fine.

i think of that for the time of fact all the GTA video games are some form of addicting and San Andreas and GTA IV are my 2 popular ones via far. San Andreas useful properties some issues you purely can't do on GTA IV like swimming decrease than water and flying jets however the realism, the man made intelligence, and the effect of time-honored exhilaration in GTA IV makes it greater effectual to me than any of the different ones. the vehicle injuries are badass. Your vehicle can die, you will get ejected out of your vehicle. you need to use the internet, or maybe a cellular telephone... among many different issues, like on line play, and so on. GTA IV has my vote as greater effectual than San Andreas.

While of course these things vary per person and I can't say anything speficially about your son, I think it would not have any negative influences on him. Nothing more than your average action movie, perhaps.
