How and where do we turn in counterfeit $20 bills?
My son's girlfriend is a stripper and she got paid $250 for a private party. 8 of the bills were counterfeit. Even I could tell they were fake. We've called the FBI, Secret Service, and the local police. No one seems interested. WE ALL KNOW BETTER THAN TO TRY TO PASS IT ON! How do we get the correct authorities to reply?

We live in a city known for all kinds of scams, and she is from the Midwest, in other words, naieve about big city life, and what some people are willing to do. I'm sure these guys passed more twenties than the ones they paid her with. We all know she is "out" the money.

While it is the Secret Service's job to handle counterfeit they do not get directly involved unless there is a pattern. I do not understand why your local police did not handle the case. In my city we make a simple report, inventory the fakes and automatically sign the items out to the SS with a copy of our report. They make a weekly pick up from our inventory. The only problem we have is explaining to people that they have lost out on any money, no one reimburses for counterfeit. Since no one will do anything I suggest you destroy the stuff unless you are going to try and take the party that paid her to small claims court,(paying in counterfeit is the same as not paying) then just keep it.
There's still a chance it may not be counterfeit. Take it into a bank and have the clerk inspect it. I've had suspicious cash in the past that turned out to be legit.
Usually that is something the secret service is involved in. They are "incharge" of crimes involving this type of crime. I would then go to your local police department and report it to them since that is the only place you have not yet tried.
