Male guppies are thinner, have longer and bigger top fins, and are normally prettier. They have a stick-like anal fin called a gonopodium. http://www.phsaquatic.com/images/fishes/guppy.jpg http://www.aquariumfish.net/images_01/guppy_male_from_heather.jpg
Female guppies are fatter in the stomach area, have a fan/triangular shaped anal fin, and they have something called a gravid spot by their anal fin. Those are where her babies are. It will get darker as she grows more pregnant. http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/774/118422.JPG http://www.aquariumhobbyist.com/guppies/Femaled.jpg
