Well, I would like to get a new pet. I don't like guinea pigs at all, I've had lots of bad exp. with everyone I've had. I want something that's smart and has alot of personality. That being said I have my eye on a small dog ex.yorkies, and Chinchillas. Money is not really an issue, and I care for all of my animals and show them lots of attention. List some pro's and con's if you can, or just shed some light on something you think i should get. (:

Small pet: RAT, smart, if groomed right: beautiful, relatively easy upkeep, fun and interesting. An enjoyable companion.
they're slightly more chunky than a mouse - which i find is slightly less sociable than rats (so more easily and willing to be handled). (own both)
I found rabbits harder to deal with than guinea pigs personally (have owned both) but mice easier than either, rats slightly harder than mice but easier than rabbits or guinea pigs. Dogs (own two) actually about the same as rabbits :) only there's more movement and companionship with a dog. Cats (most hate me for no reason! the ones that do like me have liked me for no reason and won't leave me alone) my friends owns cats - harder to deal with because of increased likely hood of car accidents - her house cat seams to be easily managed though. ferrets - it depends on the individual ferret (mostly high maintenance for the same, or even less reward as rats) (cared for friends ferret and neighbours ferret for a few months each) Geckos/snakes : depends on species. chinchillas - great idea they are adorable animals (once I stayed round my chinchilla fanatic aunt's house. Haha, FUN!!!!!)
Rabbits might get alongside good together with your different pets. But so might rats and they're very a laugh, playful and sociable. You may also coach them to do special methods. I like manx rats on account that they do not have a tail so I believe they're particularly lovable. Also dumbo rats are lovely on account that they have got those massive ears. Because rats are social animals I advocate you get a couple. They will likely be happier this manner and you'll have two times the thrill. They also are no longer very high priced. Good success and desire this is helping! P.S i had a buddy who had an older sister and brother. She had a guinea pig as did her sister and their brother had a rabbit. The animals all lived within the equal hutch and performed within the run in combination.
Perhaps a ferret? Pros: -They are like mini cats, but don't scratch -They use a little box -They can be caged while you gone -Love your attention -Very playful -You can walk them, if you want -They can be taught tricks
Cons: -They smell bad if you don't give them showers/baths -If you are out for long periods of time you may need 2. -Their littler boxs need to be cleaned out reglarly of else the will smell rancid (:
