GTA IV isn't as good as GTA SA, who agrees? What do you want to add?
I think that GTA SA is MUCH better. IN GTA IV Rockstar took out: 1). Tiny, but tasty RPG elements (such as bodybuilding, driving/weapon/fighting skills, etc); 2). Less vehicles (such as semitrailers with mini-missions, cop bikes, tractors, bicycles, trains, planes, tanks, etc); 3). Less side missions; 4). No car tuning; 5). Smaller territory; 6). No gyms.
Basically, we've got GTA III (great game, but in 2001) with better graphics and physics.
Please, answer and star this question as much as possible, I'm positive that Rockstar employees read Y!A, so we can get a bit of their attention. After all, we are consumers, it's our right to choose.

Its the first GTA game on the new consoles so it isn't really fair to compare it to San Andreas. Think about it. The first GTA game for the PS2 was GTA III. That lacked features as well, but was still a groundbreaking game that took things to new levels.
You will see those San Andreas features in future titles. Its just business. Add a few more things to the next one and gradually build up your franchise title so you make the most money out of it. Rockstar probably already knows when they are gonna add car tuning, more vehicles and such.
Nevertheless, what I would like to see in GTA for the PS3:
"Contracts": I like what they did with the Vigilante in GTA IV, but why not give us some "contract killing" side missions, similar to the Assassin missions?
Car tuning: More tuner-type vehicles and at least all the customization options that were available in San Andreas. And how about being able to customize ALL passenger cars and trucks in some way? What about performance upgrades and include some "fast & furious" style racing?
Closed off street racing: Maybe some sort of drag? Alternative to the same checkpoint to checkpoint racing.
Tanks: I know it would break the "realism", but it could happen theoretically. What if terrorists started attacking New York City and you'd have to declare Martial Law? Remember the movie The Siege?
Harrier Jets or passenger Jumbo Jets: I'm sure it will be incorporated soon.
Downloadable content that takes you to areas used in other GTA titles: I know Rockstar plans to make downloadable GTA content. I've heard it will use new areas that connect to Liberty City, instead of new missions and weapons withing Liberty City (Lost and Damned). But why not have some that takes you back to Vicy City and Las Venturas?
Casino: GAMBLING! My favorite part of San Andreas. They need to include some Texas Hold 'Em if they ever bring back the casinos.
Property purchase: Buying real estate is a good way to blow cash. They don't have enough of this in IV. And give us garages instead of parking spaces? I know this is based from New York, but come on!
Military base or presence: Its always fun to try to break in and jack a Humvee or helicopter, but get shot up by six Marines surrounding you.
Homing rockets/missles: Didn't they have those in GTA III? RPGs are pointless with moving objects.
Sunglasses: Why not in GTA IV?
Hire a limo service: Good way to impress dates or gain respect of friends, good way to blow cash.
Tow truck service: Good way to repair vehicle in singleplayer.
Stadium events: Things to participate in or watch.
Well lets see yeah GTA SA does have all that but which one is more fun. That's GTA 4 i mean sure SA has all that but you are missing something hugely important thats better than all that side crap and thats online play its the X factor.I mean vehicles are nice to have but GTA4 does have osme good ones but SA does beat it in that i agree. RPG elements are pretty fun but in GTA 4 theres no use to do it and side missions sure it has more but if you want side stuff go to online play its a long online system which replaces side missions and anyway GTA 4 has alot of side missions still it has like i know 100+.Based on fun they both get pretty boring after many hours.Look heres the deal if GTA SA and GTa 4 was stripped away from everything they had except for Main Story gameplay which one would you choose i know i would choose GTA 4 for sure and i think most people would.
GTA San Andreas had a way bigger open world than gta iv because san andreas is supposed to represent the entire state of california and some of nevada and gta iv just has one city. Granted the city is big, but san andreas has 3 big cities with down towns, sub-divisions, and all that stuff. It also has the desert.
I think the biggest mistake was taking out planes.
I mean I guess it doesn't make sense to have planes in a game that's city only with only tall buildings, but still. It would've been been great.
It took them a lot longer to make IV because it was with a new engine and they had to build the new engine along with all of the elements of the game. There are also a bunch of new graphical achievements that couldn't have been reached on the PS2. Plus the new systems even the Xbox 360 are harder to develop for than the PS2 and Xbox, so they couldn't have put all that in.
Hopefully because they have fan responses and know what they're dealing with they can make a new game in SA or a new fictional place with several cities, and open landscape with farmland, desert, or field.
While I do like GTAIV, San Andreas was definitely better. In fact, SA should of been PS3 game. Considering the scale of the game, with three cities and a huge country side, that's something rockstar could have really used the power of the PS3 with. Just look at what Sony Santa Monica wants to in God of War 3. Throw in all the RPG stuff, would have been great.
1. The Skills were sort of cool, but it was so annoying having to feed yourself and work out to stay in shape and be healthy.
2. I would like a few more vehicles, but how often do you see tractors and tanks in Liberty City. I would have liked bicycles, there's plenty of them in new york, and semitrailers would have been fine in Alderney or something. Planes would have been pretty cool, but you couldn't have used them in the city.
3. GOOD, it focused on an awesome main story line, which is one of the best stories in videogames, and for GTA, it was amazing, very un-corny mostly, plus there's plenty of pigeons to go after.
4. might have been cool, but Niko wouldn't have been into that, maybe Brucie, but it wasn't necessary.
5. Smaller in size, but more than quadrupled in detail, I could spend a lot of time just walking around, looking at everything
6. Pretty much part of 2, no working out, no gyms. Why would you stop to work out when you are seeking revenge and doing the things you're doing.
Its way more than GTA III, yeah, better physics and graphics, but also a better story, better play, better everything. It wasn't trying to make another GTA III/VC/SA, which is why it started over with another number. I am greatly impressed with what they did, I would like perhaps a lot of extra messing around features like para-chutes/airplanes/tanks/car tuning, all that fun stuff, but to be after you beat the game, so that you can still have it to mess around with, without getting in the way of the main part of the game.
and I highly doubt R* will listen to this one question on Y!A, I'm sure they do study groups and surveys and stuff, I'm guessing there'll be plenty more in GTA V, or whatever they call it. and for a good 20 hours of gameplay, I'm not complaining, especially since I replayed it, and enjoyed it more the second time around
