Where is the strangest place you've ever discovered newborn kittens?

My cat had four babies underneath a no-longer-running lawn tractor and two in a box in the garage.  Strange cat.

in a old water heater that was in the house we rented when i was young. the sad thing is the mother ate or just killed one of them because our neighbor down stairs had to touch them when they were just born.
my brother stuck his hand in it and said "hey i got one" but it was just a head

In a box by my bed. No really, my cats always came to me and made me play midwife. I did have one who pushed a halfway out baby back in, and when it came out the second time it's tail had broken off! The people who took that one named him Bunny. :)
