What do I use for my 8 month old son to go into the swimming pool for bottoms?

Do I use those little swimmers, regular diapers, or just swim trunks? He is about 24lbs... I know, he is big for 8 months old :o)

I would say little swimmers. And shorts if you want.
Size S is 16-26lbs.
Size M is 24-34lbs.
Size L is 32+

I have used Huggies Little Swimmers and they work great. I also put swimming trunks on over top. The Gymboree ones have a diaper liner in them that helps keep everything in. Little Swimmers sizes are as follows:
Small (16-26 lbs.)
• Medium (24-34 lbs.)
• Large (32+ lbs.).

Happy Swimming!

Little swimmers. You can't use a regular diaper. Why? Number One - regular diapers swell up in the water. The gel that is in the diaper then comes apart and floats to the top of the water where baby can then put it in his mouth. Number 2, regular diapers will not hold the poop. This is a health risk and if in a public pool you can be held accountable for the cleaning of the pool. Now little swimmers will not swell and will hold poop if it is more solid. Super messy poops seem to leak no matter what. A bathing suit on top of the diaper adds another layer of containment.
size - try the mediums - not sure of the weight my bigger babies are in med. - they should work. if not they do sell smalls but they are hard to find. Drug stores never seem to have them but walmart often does.
Its great that you are getting baby in the water. Get him use to going under (with you of course). Hold baby facing you and then blow in his face. The body's natural reaction is to hold the breath. You can then both go under and back up real quick. Its a great way to get them use to the water. just an added FYI

I always used Little Swimmers diapers with swim trunks over the top.
You don't want to use regular diapers, they come apart and get that gel stuff all over.
You don't want to risk no diaper at all, that could cause some poop floaties in the water =]

You definitely need the Little Swimmers diapers, whether or not you put swim trunks over the top is up to you.

I would check again because I have looked at the little swimmers brand and they do have a size chart on the bottom of package in small writing! I think small was up to 15 lbs and medium was 15 to 30 lbs and so on! Again before you purchase them look at the package carefully. I have always found weight and size charting before! Hope that helps and good luck!
