My son has always seemed to attract girls, who seem very forward in approaching him. Years ago when I was young, girls would never call a boy first or say ''Hey - I think you're cute'' whatever. Is this the norm for nowadays? He's 19 BTW - so I wasn't raised in the last century;)).

It all depends on the girl. I'm currently surrounded by hormones in high school, so I can say that yes, some girls are a lot more bold nowadays. At the same time, there are still those girls (including me) who would rather have the guy make the first move.
its VERY normal for these days. im a high school student. that may be the least forward thing ive heard someone say to a boy. trust me there is way worse things that could be said. i think your son will be okay:)
Its totally normal for girls to take the first step now. I had never talked to my boyfriend and I asked him to go to the fair with me and now we've been dating for almost 2 years
