Does anyone know if you can use a floating candle?
without water, say in a metal tin? I am looking for candles to put in metal tins for my daughters graduation party and I am not sure how to do this, if buying floating candles would be okay because the fit the tin or if this will be a hazzard because it is not in water? Please help me

i'm sure it would be ok. i think the flame would just go out once it hit the tin. it may melt real fast but i think it would work. try it out on one before the graduation party to see if it will. at least that way you won't be surprised on the day you have planned.
Any candle will float. They are made out of fat. The floating ones are made wider than they are tall so they will float easier without tipping over. You can use them anywhere you would use a regular candle. Be sure to put them into a container, since they will tend to run when they burn down.
I've used floating candles before on surfaces that were made for just regular candles, the only thing that happend was the candle burned a little faster than usual.
