Cutting mixed race hair?

Question

I'm a mixed race girl and I'm thinking of getting my hair cut. Right now it reaches to base of my neck and bellow shoulder blades if stretched. I'm scared though because I think that some hairdressers might mess it up. The reason I want to get a hair cut is because of split ends and just to try something new :) I live in South East London, so if anyone knows a good hair salon here pass on the knowledge please. Also any advice?

I don't know what's in London as I live in the U.S.  However, I have always had great experiences with Hispanic salons as they have a similar hair texture.  If there are any Hispanic salons in your area, check 'em out!

Ask your beautician how much you should have cut off in order to get rid of the unhealthy bits, and then find a happy medium if you think it is too much. If you want a fringe (which is often very flattering), make sure you are committed to straightening or pinning it back. Truth be told, you might regret thinning out your hair when you get older. I have the same problem, its usually easiest to go into a salon the specializes in which ethnic hair youre closer too. They usually have a better idea of what they should do.
