I have a box of yellow cake mix I am going to make in a few minutes, it has ingredients to make a cake the directions say.
I believe it will.
If I follow the directions.
The Bible is my directions for everyday life.

You don't, obviously. But most people have faith enough to believe in SOMETHING. Faith in true love? Faith that my house won't implode in on my head, even though I have no way of knowning if the structure is really solid and the only evidence I have to believe that it won't colapse is personal experience?

Believe it or not it is possible to get by without "believing" anything. That is, you operate solely on the basis of knowledge derived from reliable evidence rather than speculation and hearsay.

Most of the time it's not a matter of not believing anything.
Most of the time it's being presented with things that one finds absurd and goes against every chord in ones being, such as Christianity, Islam and Scientology.

I don't. I cut back and only believe in some things.
