The stock is trading close to its low of $46.25 but even in this economic down fall, it is trading fairly tight. It's 52 week high is $63.85. Read that Wal-Mart is also buying back its own stocks & it has met Wall St estimate.
So is this a good buy at this price of around $46.

Wait for a big news story about Wal-Mart before you consider buying in, or until you know that they will release a new brand/product etc. Other than that i'd look for weekly-daily profits with wal-mart. Prices seem volatile enough to roll with the flow on this one.
I used to shop Wal-Mart regularly, but now if go there twice a year, it is a lot. Most of my friends say the same. You wait in line a half hour to give them your money because the self-serve registers are closed even though 1 cashier can manage 4 - 8 registers so that makes no sense. If you have a damaged item,, the wait at the customer service counter is even longer since there is usually only 1 person working even though there are 4 or 5 clerks behind the counter. If you need help finding something in the store and a miracle occurs that you find an employee to ask, unless you speak Spanish, they are of no help what-so-ever. i do not need anything bad enough to get bad service at any store. I spend my money where I am appreciated. I would not have their stock if it were given to me. ( I would take it, but sell it and buy some other stock). Service was not like this when Sam was alive. This was the downfall of K-mart, too.
Walmart is the only retail stock to own. It happens that Target is expanding it's grocery store section and this could affect Walmart down the road. But for now Walmart is still a high value stock.
