2000 Ford Ranger Shock Absorber Question?
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger with 86,000 miles on it. When do I need to replace the shock absorbers? I've never replaced them yet.

Replace if your suspect the ride is to bouncy. Push down on the bumper hard and then let go. If the bumper comes up and stops your good. If you get an extra bounce or two replace the shocks.

Replace them if they leak, or otherwise don't absorb shock. Push down on each corner of the car and see if it bounces twice or more- bad shocks. If it just rebounds once, rest easy and put away your wallet.
