How do I tell the neighbors kids in a nice way to go home and eat?

not trying to be mean but I don't make that much money and don't get assistance and they come over almost ever day and eat our food...their parents get food stamps so I know they have food to eat...how can I tell them no???

I am straight up with the kids that come over. I will invite them to stay and eat if I have enough to share, and let them know that it isn't a good night to eat over when I don't.
I try to make spaghetti or sloppy Jo's at least once a week so I can have the kids stay and eat. I have 4 of my own so if each has a friend that wants to stay..........well, it gets pretty expensive!
I also put snacks in my room so they aren't just out to eat. I leave enough for my kids out for that day so if they choose to share that is their choice, but whole boxes of cookies or granola bars don't disappear in a day!

Tell your children not to go to the neighbor's house and eat their food, and instruct the neighborhood children of the same. Just so there's no miscommunication, speak to the childrens' parents about this and ask that their children bring their own after-school snacks. Make it clear that your children will not eat any of their food, either, and that you are asking this because you are on assistance as well and can only provide for your family.

The problem started when you first fed the kids. Now you need to ween them off you.

Just tell them straight up " OK kids, time to go outside" let them out and close the door,

do this for a few days and eventually they will learn. You are not there responsibility.

Ask all the kids in your place just before eating, "okay which kids did I give birth to?" Whoever does not answer that, tell them they have to go back to the mother who did. Your house is NOT a drop-in centre!

That is hard. Especially to tell a kid to go home at dinner time.

But you must. So, give them advance notice (15 minutes) that dinner is about to be served. Tell them, Ok kids, your parents are waiting for you. You must go home for meals with your parents. We are waiting for ours. We will see you later. (not tomorrow, not next week, but later.)
