i understand that avi is a video format but these are stills from a music video, which makes them pictures. i'm confused as to why they are saved as avi.

Avi isn't a picture format, its a video format. If Windows Media Player can't open it, then you need to download and install the appropriate codec.

Bad news for you if you believe you're getting still images from the video file, dear lady. It IS the video file.

To play the video there are a few ways you can do it. First, rename the first part of the file to "Version.001.avi" (change the place where .avi comes) and it will open up in Windows Media Player.

Alternatively, download HJSplit. This is a video file splitter and joiner. It's also freeware, meaning you don't have to pay for it. (It's a tiny file that doesn't even need to be installed as it's self-executing.)

Copy all of the files ... whilst they're still named "Version.avi.001", "Version.avi.002", and "Version.avi.003" ... into a folder. Run HJSplit and browse for the file that ends .001. The programme will do the rest. It will join the files together to give you the complete video file.

To view the pictures that have been extracted from the movie file, simply click on the picture on the page that you've provided a link for. It will open the picture full screen.

Best of luck, and happy viewing.

Open the video up with windows media player. Because AVI is a video
format file extension.

.AVI files are indeed media files.

use VLC media player, you can search for it on any search engine, and it is free to download.

You will be able to see your file, which is a video, and not pictures.

Did saw your linked site, there is no avi file there, there are .jpg pics available
