So I have to critique a set of bad instructions in my english class. These instructions can be from anything.... like recipes, board game instructions, furniture assembly instructions, etc. 

Could you give me an example of bad instructions or tell me about how you dealt/reacted to bad instructions in the past?

I want to use you knowledge as a starting point for this assignment so that I can research a similar set of directions I could critique. Best answer will be awarded later today. Thanks!

pick up any item from china  bbq grill, bicycle, anything.  try to follow the directions
the problem is, they were written in english by engineers (problem  one, the engineers)  then they were translated into chinese so the manufacturer could understand them (more engineers) then they were translated back into english by  people for whom english is a 2nd or 3rd language,
this is why most men try to assemble something without looking at the directions
