Just curious. I knew part of the call to prayer by heart for years, but I just learned the whole thing last night--in Arabic. I think it's beautiful. But then, I like to learn.

And why do they repeat the verses, exactly?

Its not regarded as singing, more of a recital with a tone. The Qur'an is also recited the same way. I believe historically the reason might have been to be loud enough to wake everyone up, as there were no microphones in the 7th century. The azaan is an alarm clock after all. I don't think there is any particular reason for repeating the verses.
could no longer positioned up with that, time for affirmative acton, shall we've relatively appreciate in this society in the different case pass someplace else.there is not any want for this nonsense, all of them understand the cases, all of them (optimistically) have watches and have learnt to tell the time so why each and all the caterwauling,no longer required in this century. I see somebody who won't be able to cope with the certainty alongside with western society is in an exceedingly petty way giving inverted thumbs to seen solutions, how pathetic.
Not to be rude, but are you telling me that Christians and people of every other faith don't "sing the call to prayer"? Are hymns not sung in church?
And in response to Jimmy's answer - I'm Muslim and I've never been "baked" in my life, and neither have any of the Muslims I know. So check your facts before you post fake information on the Internet.
