best convertible car seats?

My little girl is going to be 4 month old on the 16th and is already almost out grown her infant car seat. I have been looking for a couple months now at different car seats trying to figure out which one will be best. She is probably between 15-16lbs and around 26 inches. Her bottom to shoulder is 12 inches. I was just wondering what type of convertible seats you guys have used and found worked well. We have a chevy equinox so there is a good amount of room in the back seat. I know the britax are good but they are really expensive, are they really worth it or are there equal ones not so expensive. I want to spend under $200 but willing to go up that high.

In Canada at least, go to Wal-Mart. The Cosco brand convertable car seat is great. It is easy to install and easy to turn the other way come time. We are very happy with ours. It cost about $80 but sometimes you can get them on sale for about $65. They even come in pink for girls if you want to get a pink one.

All car seats have to go through the same regulation test...Britax are no more safe. We use an Evenflo that has the recline function in the front for easy access. Find the one that is the most convenient for you and you're situation. Walmart has the same brands for less money. As long as it has a 5 point harness and the latch function you'll be all set.
