Proper HS Graduation Announcements?
My daughter went to boarding school her senior year of high school. She was number one in her class and was set to be the grad speaker. However, she made a mistake and was asked to leave the school. They did however give her her final grades through the end of the year, so she is able to get her diploma. The diploma will come during summer school in the county where we live. My question is this - we had purchased announcements - not invitations - and I am wondering if it would be terribly inappropriate to send out the announcements we have already purchased. Even though they aren't invitations, they do give the graduation date of May 23, 2009.
What do I do?
My daughter doesn't really have hard feelings toward the school. She is upset with herself for blowing her chance to walk at graduation and to be the speaker. It is probably a good lesson for her. At this point, all she wants to be send out the announcements. I sort of thought it would be OK since they are announcements and not invitations. I will give her the option of using the ones we have or having some others printed up. Thanks for the help - it is much appreciated.
