Has anyone seen the series Dollhouse?

Is it worth ordering the DVD? It wasn't on TV here in Holland but I do like Joss Whedon's work and Eliza Dushku.

It's fairly bad. I was excited when I heard about it because I've always liked Whedon's work, but Dollhouse is radically different. The characters range from dull to incredibly evil (and yet still dull). There is none of Whedon's trademark wit or snappy dialogue. Plotlines are nonsensical, illogical and again dull. Everyone said it would get better after the sixth episode because that's when Fox really let Whedon loose. If anything it got even worse.

There's a kernel of a good idea here, but the execution is awful. Eliza Dushku is good as a member of an ensemble, but she lacks the strength to carry a show. This is especially visible here, where she's expected to play multiple distinct characters, yet they all seem alike. There are also issues like how we're supposed to sympathize with characters like Topher and Adelle, who are basically pimps, rapists and slavers. It's hard to feel sorry for them. The blatant exploitation of the female cast is another issue - Eliza spends a lot of time in fetish wear for no good reason (other than ratings). It can be very uncomfortable viewing, and not in a good way.

It's ok, but not Whedon's best work.
It starts out slowly then gets better through the last few episodes.
Still worth a look

it does start kinda slow but if your a joss fan, which i so am, then you'll love this one as well. it has a bunch of people he had in his other shows on there (buffy, angel, and firefly) i would definitely buy this one.
