Hey

Are you wanting to network the computer via Ethernet or wireless?

"I asked a question about networking home computers on yahoo answers and you asked if I wanted to connect the computers via ethernet or wireless. I can't contact you through yahoo answers because you have your mail and IM blocked, so I decided to try to get you here. I have DSL interenet connected to my desktop via Ethernet. My laptop connects to the DSL modem via wireless. My desktop does not have wireless capabilities. Can I use the DSL router to network my computers (one wired and one wireless), or do I need to connect them by Ethernet?"

You may definitely network the two pc's together and I will show you how.

You need to make sure they are on the same network.

So first of all to do this go to your desktop where your My Computer is. Right click on my computer > properties > click on Computer Name tab > click the change button at the bottom and see what the "workgroup" is and check on both of your machines to make sure they are the same.

If both are the same and both your computers can connect to the internet wirelessly and from Ethernet your computers will be networked.

Let me know once you have done this, if you need help with sharing files or pinging to see if they are connected properly email me at support@thegreenbug.com.au

Have a great day,
