What will you call Ethiopia and Eritrea Civil Wars?

My research shows that ethiopia and eritrea have both experienced civil wars. SO I want to know if the civil wars were influenced by political actors or ethnic groups....please your answers are greatly appreciated, and also specify the site you got the information from.
