I have a friend, but we don't really click?

Question

This girl and I worked together for a little while. We went out with other co workers and hung out and stuff, but sometimes I feel like we didn't really click. 
I am going to meet her later today at Panera. She sent me a message telling me that she was going to be in town, so we should get together. And so i agreed. But when i called her to set up a time to meet, it was sort of awkward and the phone conversation lasted like 3 mins or less. Now I don't want to go there and be all weird and have nothing to say because we don't really have a whole lot in common.
How should i approach this? Should I just stick to the weather and work related topics (because that is all we ever talk about?) or should this just be the last time I go out and be awkward around this person?
I really try to not make it awkward, but I just don't know what to say. We are sort of shy people, but I think we open up more around our closer friends.

just go and loosen up u never know this could turn out to be a very special friend there is a click somewhere or she wouldn't have contacted you just have fun:)

Find some common ground with her.  There has to be something that you guys have alike.  If not, spark up a conversation that will have her ranting and going on and on.  Just nod and smile until that similarity unearths itself.  Good luck!

I too am a very shy person and i once didnt know one of my friends very well, then we took a trip somewhere together w/ 1 of my other friends and we just, CLICKED. It our flavor in crude humor, i didnt know she was like that intil we met all the way, so she problay has something that u luv, im not sure what, but w/ me as soon as i know someone interests, and we seem god friends, and its not aquared i am like NOT anywere near nevous and shy.

what you should do is invite one of your closer friends to go with you and that way it won't be as awkward.just make sure every time you get together you have someone else with you and maybe thing will work out and you can become good friends.. good luck
