Sara Barilles (spelling) has done a few songs that are quite good and has been compared as a latter day Carole King. To be compared to Carole King is almost an honor, so I think she's probably the best who is out there releasing music right now.

Of course, there was always Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and a few others like James Taylor who were singer/songwriters that told stories. And let's not forget Paul Simon, either....Show more
