Because they are linked to Australian news networks ......why do you ask ? Thinking of a change of scenery ?

because here in australia the tv channel 7 is partners with yahoo so they turn it to yahoo!7. it used to be just yahoo! then they changed it.
also it is nine msn and it is the same msn and channel nine are partners.

Yahoo! Was brought out by Seven West Media (Channel 7 and Prime 7) and became Yahoo7. It has Australian based services and you can watch TV on Yahoo7

Both companies are in conjuction with television networks. Channel 7 (Yahoo)and Channel 9(MSN). I think it could be a coincedence or they may be batteling against each other.

Both 7 and 9 are Australian commercial TV networks. the 7 network works in with Yahoo and the 9 network with MSN.
They have similar arrangements in the US too ... for example - msNBC
