no-sugar-added version of their premium ice cream? I am diabetic and love ice cream and I am tired of eating the watered-down flavorless versions of Breyer's and Dreyer's that they sell here in my neighborhood.

Probably not, although Haagen Daaz is a great choice for those purists out there who refuse to eat anything that has been contaminated by preservatives and high fructose corn syrup, it has never been a particuarly healthy choice, due in fact to the sweetness and use of sugars in its ice creams. So unfortunately, while it may be a good idea for haagen daaz to investigate and test on..the result is that the ice cream maker will most likely not go the healthier route, since decadence is really in the name. But hey with the growing trend of healthy food brands, it could be a possibility. By the way, Skinny cow is a great brand for ice cream, i know it may sound like its another water downed version of things, but trust me the chocolate ice cream sandwiches are delicious.

I've been a diabetic for over 54 years, and have seen a tremendous evolution of diet/diabetic foods in that time. In the old days, almost everything for diabetics was sweetened with saccharine or cyclamates, which were generally safe except for the cancerous tumors developed by lab mice give -mega-massive overdoses.
All the mainstay American brands (Edy's, Blue Bunny, Briar's, Baskin Robins, etc.) of no-sugar-added ice cream in the USA seem to be made with copious quantities of sorbitol, mannitol, mallitol, or other invert sugar alcohols. These will give just about anyone gas, or diarrhea if significant quantities are consumed in one serving. Although I love ice cream, I've learned to avoid anything sweetened with these, as the negatives outweigh the great flavor.
The wife and I visited Rio de Janeiro in Brazil about a decade ago. There was a little Haagen-Daz shop near the hotel that offered no-sugar added ice cream. It was delicious, far better than any other no-sugar-added ice cream, but didn't seem to have the negative after-effects of our domestic brands. Now I'm not going to fly 5500 miles to have a bowl of ice cream - I just wish I could find it here is the US.

via fact it fairly is a miles better form of ice cream and extra richer then the different ideal ice creams. so in case you opt for good ice cream, haggen das is the form to pass it fairly is from germany

That's a really good idea. My husband's diabetic, and I know he'd enjoy that, too.
Can you get Edy's where you are? Their sugar-free variety isn't too bad.

i think they have ice cream made by Splenda, which is safe for a diabetic and it also taster far better then any other artificial sweetener..
