Is Hindi associated with a specific area/region of India?

I know it's the national language and the most widely spoken Indian language, but does it have a regional association?

People know, for example, that Tamil is from Tamil Nadu. Other languages Assamese, Marathi, Gujarathi, etc. have regions where they originate and are associated with. What about Hindi?

It does have a regional association. It belongs to the so called HINDI BELT, stretching from himachal pradesh across punjab, haryana and madhya pradesh to uttar pradesh, and it is also spoken in parts of rajasthan.

Though Hindi is spoken in many states of our country, the region dominating the language is Uttar Pradesh. In other states, the place of Hindi is secondary only, as far I can guess.
