Steve McNair's blood-alchohol level?

Yahoo is running a feature story all about how alcohol was in Mcnairs system when he was killed and the headline reads "Slain ex-NFL star's alcohol level was twice legal limit" My question is ...Since when is there a legal limit for alcohol while sleeping on a couch? Why is this news? The guy was murdered by a psycho girl-friend, why does it matter how much he had to drink?

I read the article and it said twice the limit for driving. The law considers you too drunk to drive at .08 and they are simply pointing out that McNair was twice that limit at the time of his death. Meaning, he was pretty hammered when he died. It seems to me that McNair may have had a drinking problem. He was issued a DUI back in '03 that he got out of. Loaded gun in the car, too. He was issued another DUI for having a family member drive him while he and the family member were drunk. Never heard of that law but, that's what happened. Those charges were wlso dropped later. He then was involved in another DUI incident with the psycho chic where he was able to leave in a Taxi. Then, just a couple of nights later, he is hammered again and gets murdered by crazy chic. Maybe drinking led to poor decision making which ultimately got him killed.

Read the article and typical of sportswriters, I didn't get the point.

That led to them believing that he was asleep when he was shot and killed.
