Since we now know the baby doesn't belong to Amanda and David, the question is who are his birth parents? My theory is that Taylor came in to the ER and did not realize she was pregnant. She gave birth to a boy, and because she hadn't had time to think it over, and her life is unsettled, she told Jake to find a home for him.

They showed Jake looking online for people wanting to adopt their babies out before the Amanda's baby was born. At that point, we knew he was looking for a different baby.
Nobody else in Pine Valley, including Taylor, was pregnant enough to have a baby that size. She would have been showing. It will probably a new character they will introduce in the future, coming to look for her son and wanting him back.

magical jake pulled a baby out of thin air. even if someone gave birth to a baby in the er and abandoned it, or dropped it at the er, jake couldn't just take it. that's illegal.
so yeah it makes no sense.
oh and zendall can suck it. they are made of crap.

I think they are anonymous at this point. I do agree with the above answer, though, that it leaves the door open for the parents to eventually come into the picture, wanting their child back.

Hmm... I had always just thought of his parents as anonymous. I hadn't really thought about where Jake got him. I wonder if they ever will make them known.

I don't think he will turn out to be anyone's we know. But, you never can tell. I think he just went to an agency and got one for her or maybe he had a patient that wanted to give her child away.
