How do you fix the speaker when it "booms" or "breaks"?

This past week, I was listening to iTunes music -as usual- And a "boomy" song came on and my speaker started "breaking" I can't really explain what it does. Like it makes this unbearable sound so the song is not smooth and it "booms". I can't enjoy my music anymore. Also, the speakers are about 8-10 years old. Help please.

Sounds like you blew your speaker. ------Time to get some new ones.

Oh, it's rattling?

Get some new speakers.

That's the only thing that can really help if you like to listen to your music really loud.
If you want to keep those speakers, you should try lowering the volume, but getting new speakers would probably be better.

Sounds like you've blown the speaker. See if there's a visible tear or crack in the cone. If there is, sometimes it can be fixed using fingernail polish or glue. This is only a temporary fix, the paper is old and deteriorated and will likely blow again.
