What is causing my cat to quit eating and lose weight?

I have three cats one brother and sister who are three years old and a new kitten who kind of adopted us by showing up on our door step one day. My boy cat who is three years old quit eating the cat food but will eat cat treats. My dad is going to bring me a can of food to see if he will eat it but I am wondering if anybody knows what could be causing him to quit eating the food maybe he doesn't like the food or something. Any ideas????

he will eat cat treats it's just the dry food he won't eat. Could it be because he is stressed about the kitten or he doesn't like the food?

Take him to the vet if he's not eating. This really could be anything, and it could be very serious.

Your cat could be sick, or the kitten could be upsetting him. If your cat is losing weight rapidly then you should take him to a vet.

if the kitten is upsetting him just make sure they have time together and do not eat in the same area

but the again your cat could be very sick.. I'd suggest taking him to a vet
