What is a hydroglass shallow well pump?

Well I went out and looked at mine ,,it is a hydro-glass Sears 1/2 hp shallow well pump, the only difference is mine is a fiberglass/plastic case and housing versus a cast iron one. The fiberglass will have ceramic seal on the shaft were as the cast will have a rubber seal on the same shaft, just a few basic differences like the seals but overall bout the same lifespan and maintenance issues. also the fiberglass has a big rubber o-ring between the pump half's where the cast doesn't need one...Show more
