Changing the legal age to 18 was proposed because of the recession, but there is very strong opposition to the move.

Casinos are pretty cautious about underage gaming. In theory they could confiscate your jackpot, but what happens more often is the underage person goes to the casino and demands their money back since it was illegal for them to let you gamble. Not only does the casino have to give you the money back, but they also must pay a fine to the state. It is highly unlikely that you will get away with it, unless you look to be about 30. Normally they will take your picture and tell you that you will be bounced if you try to do it again. If you are staying with your parents, don't put them through that grief. Since many of the hotels are owned by the same company they might get evicted even if you go to the hotel next door.

21 To Gamble

There are a couple of good answers and others that are totally stupid. As mentioned before check with your DMV. All 50 states have different laws on when they expire and so. There should not be an issue as long as your ID is valid, the guards need to look at the birthdate and not the design and I am sure you are not the 1st person to go to Vegas on their 21st B Day with the under 21 design. Also, to one answer it does not matter if you drink or not you have to be 21 to gamble in Vegas.

Actually, I saw that happen in late June at the Imperial Palace. It was a guy in his mid twenties and was playing slots with his 20 year old girlfriend. They were both being escorted out of the casino as we were walking to the front entrance. Listened to them complaining outside because she had to give up over $300 winnings on the dollar slot machine she was playing. Security guys walked them out, I don't know where they were staying, but they were told not to come back. You have to realize that every single inch of the casino is on camera. And you can't go more than twenty yards without seeing security people.
Now that was just one instance and I am sure some people could get away with it actually at the slots, especially if it was busy. But none of the machines on the strip pay out cash. They all have the little tickets print out of the machine with the dollar amount you have won. In order to claim that money, you need to go to the cashier who is most likely going to card you. They also have some auto attendant machines that will pay cash if you have a winning ticket, but they only pay out certain dollar amounts and I am not sure what those are because I could never find one that worked, lol. Maybe it is just in even 100 dollar amounts or something.
