In Memory of Jon Nödtveidt : Third Death Anniversary?

Guy Responsible for creation of Timeless Masterpieces like The Somberlain ,Storm of the Light's Bane .
Man who lived his life on own terms ,whose everlasting presence can still be felt through his Music
Lets on his 3rd Death Anniversary pay homage to one of the greatest.

1. Post a song in Memory of the Great Man

2. What Impact did Dissection Music have on you`re lives ?

See the plains lie ghastly silent as being frozen in time
A place of distress where evil still lies vigilant enshrined
Years that passed are now centuries and forgotten seem the
fallen ones
But on lived the memories in the spirits of a battle sons

Hear the choirs
Is it the wind that brought back their cries?
Once forged in blood by tragedy
Sharp were the thorns of crimson death

Through the air again our voices whisper
and awake are now your eyes
For too long closed in slumber - but death didn't prove our
demise

Sure Dude i totally agree with you Vinterland ,Sacrementum music had huge influence of Dissection,.yeah i too dont support Murder and stuff . May be i have cliche when it comes to Suicide . it can be categorise as cowardice when a individual tries to end it all inorder to avoid his problem .but according to some of individuals who were really close to Jon stated that guy was focussed, happier and stronger than ever before. as you may agree we all have our own set of principles . Being a true satanist to end the life in front of Satanic Grimoire was the way he wanted to execute it as .You ,me or anyone else for the matter of fact may not understand his fundamental of Life . all we can do is just admire the guy for amazing music he gave us .......

2. Musically he was way ahead of time with his melodic black metal sound. and although its always grouped into black metal, there are definitely alot of death metal style riffs. To go along with that, the melodies and atmosphere he created in his songs were impeccable. because of Dissection, numerous other bands that I love are out there and are directly linked to his sound IMO (sacramentum, naglfar, Vinterland, etc.....)

BUT....and you may disagree with me...but on a personal side of things...Jon is not someone I could look up to. For one, Killing someone just because they are homosexual is not something I support. His religious beliefs I don't agree with although everyone is entitle to their own opinions....and to top it off, My opinion of suicide is that its the cowards way out. I know Jon stated that he has accomplished all he wanted to in life and thats why he did it...but i just don't agree with that.

***yeah, i agree with that. I wish that i could have seen Dissection live...but unfortunately will never have that chance.

And as far as his suicide....maybe coward was the wrong word in his case as you are right...he did say that he basically did what he wanted to do with his life and was quite happy. Now I can't really relate to that as i believe there are always other things to accomplish or acheive
