Spiritually speaking, do you ever have those days when you feel on top of the world? You know, the days where nothing can touch you and you're happy for no reason at all... just because you can be? Care to share with us?
I haven't had one in a long time, but I remember them clearly. So, I was just wondering. Thanks :]

I probably have had days like that before, although for the life of me I can't remember any particular examples.
The closest I can actually recall that happened recently would be a couple of weeks ago. The day started well when I woke up and felt like taking a walk early in the morning. Must have been about 5 or so. That's the best time for walking, or else in the late evening. That's good too.
Anyway, I walked down the high street past what they call 'the parade', which is a row of quaint little shops in stereotypically English style. Although most of them are Italian restaurants these days :) I took a different path through the woods up over 'The Common' (this is a large area of grass near the middle of the village where people walk their dogs and teenagers sit around in circles and talk, basically). It just felt like the thing to do. So I was wandering around there for a while, listening to the birds singing, and then I went home.
It's a nice way to start the day.
Then later on the three CDs I'd ordered some time previously arrived and they were every bit as good as I'd anticipated. I absolutely love music. It's just pure joy to hear something and just instantly connect with it in such a primal way. So that was good.
In the afternoon I sat on the little step that leads out of the back door, overlooking the garden, smoking my pipe. The combination of the sunlight filtered through the foliage of the huge ash tree that overlooks the end of the lawn, the peace and quiet (for once I couldn't hear many cars out on the road--!), and the scent of the vanilla tobacco that is maybe one of my favourites I think, all came together to create just the most serene feeling. Like I didn't want to move or do anything to break the spell of just sitting and being. That intense feeling of connectedness with the world.
It is something I treasure.

Edit: lol it just occurred to me that my life must seem very boring to a lot of people!
Yeah, I remember days like that. Last summer was full of them. Things haven't been going so well for me lately, but I still smile when I think about how much confidence I had in everything.
Yesterday came close - I decided I was tired of being frumpy and sitting around, so I got dolled up for no reason other than I wanted to, and I got out and did some shopping. Unfortunately, there were a few "reality checks" throughout the day, too.

I really liked how you came back to your own Q/ yea me either,but when I'm w/ my son even when it's a hard day w/ him,I ...now that he is here ,I couldn't ever have a good day if he wasn't close.Maybe it' co depend, but he is everything for me.I know the day's you refer to but I'm getting older and things just are not the same as when i was in my youth.my hopes and dreams are all ..?my faith in what could be better is farther away from me now .thank you for asking i don't want to depress you.things change and I'm fighting a real up hill battle to get to where i have to be,or...i don't know.keep the faith -sistea.
