I know I do and I'm still hoping every season that she will return. Especially considering people have returned before. It feels like when she left it wasn't final.

I think she will return (at least for a little bit) because Nicola Walker was spotted on the set of Spooks in April this year while filming series 8. That is great news because I love Nicola Walker and her character Ruth.
I want Ruth to return for several reasons, the biggest one of which is that she was the unusual type of character fo a show like that. She is smart, competent, and can get information from anywhere. At the same time though, she is clumsy, nervous, and socially awkward at times -- not exactly the characteristics you want in a spy, and yet despite that she is very capable at doing what she does.
As for a practical reaason, with Connie gone, Harry will need someone to confide in, and who better than Ruth to fill that void. Re-introducing her character (with or without romantic element involved) will give the writers of the show the opportunity to give us a glimpse of Harry's mind without making it look weird (somehow I can't see Harry confide in his team, especially when he has doubts, he is their leader after all).
That being said, I want Ruth back, and I am hoping that she gets to stay for a while.
