What do you think about the new law allowing guns in state parks?

Just Curious.

"...shall not be infringed" allowed guns in state parks long before this new law did... for one thing.

For another thing, crime rates are going to plummet in state parks now. Think about it -- if you were about to raid somebody's camp, and you already know there's a chance those campers are armed, wouldn't you think twice about stepping up to terrorize them?

A gun in the hand is better than a park ranger on the phone.

Well I'll tell you what it will do. It will increase the number of people that visit our parks, for the simple reason of, I want to show off my patriotism by wearing my big bad six shooter to the parks. Then the people who really just want to enjoy the wonders of the parks will stop coming for fear that one of those so called gun lovers decides to show off and hurts or kills some one. Guns are good in the right hands, but there is a place for them, and the parks are not that place. I have been to ten or fifteen of our national parks, and monuments, and I never once seen a reason why anyone would even want to carry a gun in them parks.

History strongly suggests the parks will be safer as a result.
If not, they will literally be the FIRST exception.
ALL "mass-casualty shootings" have been in "gun free zones."
SOME people carry around government-issued photo ID that shows they voluntarily underwent a background check and have NO criminal history nor past mental illness commitments. These people form a demographic long-proved to be the LEAST likely to commit even trivial crimes and also long-proved to be MORE LIKELY THAN A COP to help victims of violence. Elected Democrats make it part of their life's work to encourage you to fear such people.

i am very much in favor of it. also concealed carry, criminals don't care what the laws are. they will take there guns anywhere they want. police can't be everywhere to protect us. if we are to protect ourselves we need the legal right to do so. read "the armed citizen" page of American Rifleman or American Hunter, publications of the NRA. you will see accounts of people defending themselves against rape, robbery and murder. All of the laws passed by Congress to restrict our second amendment rights have made it easier for the bad guys to ply their trade. the assault weapons ban did nothing to curb firearms related crimes. the school shootings that have happened at various times in this country are more a result of bad parenting than the right to bear arms. Thank You.

Sounds good to me. It will make a criminal with a gun think twice about robbing some innocent citizen in a state park if they can defend themselves.
