Shoulder pain and numbness in finger tips?

I have had shoulder pain for a few weeks now, but yesterday my finger tips went numb. It drove me crazy trying to work as I type quite a bit. After work the shoulder pain stayed but the numbness went away. Today the numbness is back in my finger tips.

My shoulder pain is causing me to not be able to lift my right arm and the numbness is only in my right hand.

Anyone have any idea what could cause this. I haven't injured myself in any way and I use a curved key board and a mouse that doesn't require me to move my arm- just roll the ball with my thumb.

Its driving me crazy! Please and thank you!

You could have tendonitis, or bursitis, notice the itis? that simply means inflamation, easily cured with a anti inflammatory, try motrin, or generic ibuprofen or naproxen generic for aleve, take with food and follow the directions on the box. Extra help is use heating pad, or hot towel (not too hot) to drape shoulder and put on wrist, this feels great, then stand back to wall, and with your hurt arm, walk the wall up and down from your head level and walk your fingers low as you can go with out bending, or just make angel wings for 5 minutes 3x's a day this will keep the muscles from getting to stiff, while you recover from the strain.

I wish I had this 2 years ago when I damaged my rotator cuff while showing off. This is very detailed and really gives you the techniques you need to sort out your own shoulder issues and a lot more info such as preventing further injuries. If you have a shoulder keeping you awake at night you'll know it's no laughing matter.
