Brahman bulls, and their uses?

What are Brahman bulls used for in America? I've seen some places say you can raise them for their meat, but I haven't found much more about it then people just mentioning it. Would they make a good beef cattle, or are they suited for different tasks?

One of the more important reasons for having Brahmans is the use in crossbreeding. The Brahman is a separate species (Bos indicus) as compared to most domestic beef and dairy breeds (Bos taurus). Originating on the Indian subcontinent in harsh tropical climates, Brahmans developed hardy favorable characteristics that make them desirable to use to influence herd genetics. Brahmans are very disease resistant, have thicker skin, and have little difficulty calving all of which would require hardiness in hot and humid conditions.
For example, Angus originated in Scotland, were the weather is cool to cold and damp, so Angus would do poorly in a hot humid climate such as south Texas or Florida, but Angus have excellent carcass quality. By crossbreeding Brahman with Angus, thus the recognized breed of Brangus, the desirable characteristics of both breeds dominate.
Brahmans are also used in other areas of agriculture in lesser developed countries because of their hardiness and strength, being able to survive on less quality food and being used as draft animals.
In the US, they are used to produce rodeo stock, with rodeo producers springboarding on the belief that using Brahmans increases the agressiveness of the rodeo stock.
